The title is stolen from my favourite song by the Danish band Sort Sol, which I listened to over and over again while working on this piece.
So who are the figures in the painting..?
Well, their voices started whispering to me when I had tried out several compositions that didn’t feel right.
They told me that they have spent hundreds of lifetimes together, and that they have an eternal connection that cannot ever be broken. The glimpse they wanted me to show in this artwork is from a life as lovers in an ancient and since long forgotten civilisation, where they both belonged to a secret, magic practicing society.

Malmö
Mitt namn är Nina Wictorin och jag är bildkonstnär baserad i Malmö. Jag arbetar med akrylmåleri på duk och skapar halvfigurativa verk i drömlika landskap. I mina målningar återkommer broar som en symbolisk passage mellan världar, där verklighet och fantasi flyter samman. För mig är måleriet ett sätt att ge form åt ett inre tillstånd snarare än att avbilda den yttre världen.
Mina målningar befolkas av halvabstrakta gestalter som rör sig i gränslandet mellan människa, arketyp och något bortom det synliga. De bär på stämningar och förnimmelser snarare än tydliga identiteter.
Jag bygger upp mina verk i lager av struktur, schabloner och transparenta färger, där djupet långsamt växer fram. Min process är intuitiv – jag börjar med en abstrakt bakgrund och låter motivet träda fram i dialog med färgen.
Drömmar är en viktig källa till mitt skapande. De öppnar för ett flöde av bilder och berättelser som jag använder för att utforska teman som transformation, minne och andlighet. Med min konst vill jag skapa ett inre rum av stillhet, där betraktaren kan stanna upp och för en stund kliva över en tröskel – in i något bortom tid och rum.
