It was difficult choosing my favourite artwork in Olga Brink's portfolio, as pieces such as 'Roses' and 'Rhododendron' are also very strong. However, 'Staring Into Your Soul' has particularly caught my attention. I believe this piece exemplifies the strength in versatility and emotional depth that the artist displays. It demonstrates her technical skill in watercolour to the fullest. The use of light and the use of shadow is distinctive. Paired with the intricate detailing of the face, the brush strokes are evocatively placed in the background to create an engaging atmosphere bound to captivate the viewer. This smoothing of edges of realism into the interpretation of the vision allows the work to create a compelling narrative, setting it apart in an already really impressive portfolio. Such adeptness in a myriad of colour palettes and subjects, alongside the her command over realism is indicative of a refined yet diverse artistic style, capable of appealing to a wide audience.

Olga Brink has an academic background with thirteen years of art studies at an art high school and the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. For the past eleven years, she has been active in Sweden, combining her classical training with a personal expression.
Her artistic focus is on watercolor painting, a medium she chose for its technical challenges and its vibrant, unpredictable nature. By working with the transparency of watercolor and building up the artwork in multiple thin layers, she creates a distinctive depth and light. Her style is a romantic realism with influences from Impressionism, aiming to capture the atmosphere and essence of each subject. Alongside her independent creative work, she accepts commissions for animal portraits and shares her knowledge through courses for beginners.
In addition to her artistic practice, she runs Galleri Brink at Storgatan 23 C in Uppsala, near UKK. The gallery serves as a dynamic meeting place for both established artists and emerging talents, with the ambition to make the art world more inclusive and accessible. It is also here, on the gallery premises, that she conducts her beginner painting courses.
